Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted March 9, 2021 Journalists Share Posted March 9, 2021 Kiwi import Impecunious (NZ) (Sacred Falls) is set to take her place in Saturday’s Gr.2 Phar Lap Stakes (1500m) for trainers Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young at Rosehill on Saturday. The daughter of Sacred Falls was galloped on when a luckless fourth in the Gr.2 Angus Armanasco Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on February 20 and will appreciate three weeks between runs. “She is excellent. We are not going to take any chances with her, but she is 100 percent good to go,” Busuttin said. “She worked up with Rich Hips this morning and was terrific, so we are on track for Saturday.” Impecunious began her career with Michael and Matthew Pitman and was a dominant winner at Riccarton in June last year. That win was in heavy conditions and the ability to cope with rain-affected conditions is likely to come into play on Saturday, with substantial rain forecast later in the week in Sydney. New Zealand owner Chris Griffin retains an interest in Impecunious, who races in the colours of prominent Australian owner Ozzie Kheir. Impecunious isn’t the only former Kiwi entered for the three-year-old feature, with Only Words (NZ) (Sweynesse), formerly with Clint Isdale, set for her second start for Chris Waller, while The Irishman (NZ) (Tavistock), formerly trained by Tony Pike, will have his second start for Mark Newnham after a winning Australian debut last week at Warwick Farm.
