Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted March 14, 2021 Journalists Share Posted March 14, 2021 Peter Callahan's Eclipse Award-winning 3-year-old filly of 2020, SWISS SKYDIVER (f, 4, Daredevil–Expo Gold, by Johannesburg) completed a cross-country graded-stakes double for her recently repatriated sire, stamping her authority on Saturday's GI Beholder Mile S. at Santa Anita. A bit hesitant into stride from gate one, the $35,000 Keeneland September yearling recovered and sat comfortably in the slipstream pacesetting Golden Principal (Constitution) down the backstretch. Creeping closer on the turn, Swiss Skydiver pushed away from the fence and into the two path, struck the front a furlong and a half from home and cruised under the wire to record her second stakes victory in Arcadia. She annexed the GII Santa Anita Oaks during her championship run last term. As Time Goes By (American Pharoah–Take Charge Lady) covered some ground and finished full of run for second, ahead of stablemate Golden Principal in third. Earlier in the day, last year's GI Kentucky Oaks winner Shedaresthedevil proved best in the GII Azeri S. Lifetime Record: 13-7-3-1. O-Peter J Callahan; B-WinStar Farm LLC (KY); T-Ken McPeek.
