Just 24 months old, the Jason Thompson-trained Aston Fastnet has won four from nine including scintillating victories at Sandown Park (29.11sec Best) and Ballarat (24.78sec Best). Tonight is his first start at The Meadows, and The Watchdog has marked him as one of his best bets on the card. “Aston Fastnet is one of the hottest prospects on the planet, and I think all greyhound fans cannot wait to see what time he can put on the board at The Meadows,” The Watchdog said. Gotham Duke looms as the obvious danger. Mel Lithgow’s greyhound has won 16 races including five of his past nine. Among his recent successes includes a 29.12sec (Best) win at Sandown Park two starts ago and a Horsham Cup Consolation victory in a dynamic 26.89sec (Best). Gotham Duke is drawn in Box 8, which can be challenge at The Meadows, but he has had six starts from the pink alley across his career for four wins and two minor placings.
