Candlelit dinner awaits with Aeroplane Eric

Aeroplane Eric has retired to stud and will stand at a fee of $1400 with his trainer Glenn Rounds.

The decision to retire the 2021 Warragul Cup winner came after reoccurring stopper bone injury.

“He is a fantastic dog who has great chase and determination, but the stopper bone injury bothered him throughout his career,” trainer and stud master Glenn Rounds said.

Rounds and the Wasted Syndicate decided to retire Eric after 21 career starts which included 10 wins and was highlighted by victory in the Group 2 Warragul Cup over track record holder Shima Shine.

Aeroplane Eric is a son of Knocka Norris and Lonesome Jett (Lonesome Cry x Seize The Moment) which Rounds believes is a great alternative to the sons of Fernando Bale and Barcia Bale who are currently at stud or about to go to stud.

“Eric is out of the number over bitch line in the country – Reggie Kay – in my opinion.”

Aeroplane Eric unofficially broke Aston Bolero’s 400m track record of 22.07 at Warragul in a satisfactory trial after he temporarily retired in August last year.

WATCH: Aeroplane Eric win his satisfactory trial at Warragul in a track record time of 22.04 seconds over the 400m distance.

“We retired him in August last year but decided that he wasn’t ready so brought him back.

Rounds is holding Eric at stud with both frozen and natural services available.

Aeroplane Eric has three litters waiting to be born. Izumi for Yvonne Andrew, Flying Bekim for Terry Erenshaw and Classy Sparks for Nicole Mcrae.

“I have already indicated to Terry that we would like to purchase a pup.”

“Eric has a wonderful temperament – he even talks to you, he also has a strong chase instinct on the track.”

Keep an eye on what Eric is up to off the track through his Facebook Page.
