Officials at Breeders’ Cup have announced the names of four celebrity Breeders’ Cup Ambassadors for this year’s event to be held at Churchill Downs Friday and Saturday, November 2 and 3.

The newest BC Ambassadors include television host Chris Harrison, an anchor in the early days of the Television Games Network (TVG); National Hockey League defenseman Erik R. Johnson of the Colorado Avalanche; Jamie-Lynn Sigler, an actress best known for her work on The Sopranos, but also a daughter of the principal owners of the New York-based Winning Move Stable; and Michael Owen, a former English footballer and Thoroughbred owner and breeder who campaigned the popular, but ill-fated stayer Brown Panther (GB) (Shirocco {Ger}).

“I am excited to join a fantastic list of individuals as a Breeders’ Cup Ambassador,” said Harrison. “I’ve attended Breeders’ Cup, and I really enjoy watching the outstanding showcase of international Thoroughbred racing, as well as the fun and energy at the event. I look forward to supporting the Breeders’ Cup for many years to come.”

Added Breeders’ Cup President and CEO Craig Fravel: “We are excited to introduce a new group of Ambassadors to the Breeders’ Cup family. From actors to former football players, these new ambassadors diversify our program with their many talents and backgrounds, and their shared passion for Breeders’ Cup and horse racing enriches the fan experience. We look forward to sharing their enthusiasm with fans across the world.”
