Ghost
Kerry Parker trained his first group 1 winner when Dark Dream won the QLD Derby Dark Dream won his maiden at Moruya in November come June he’s a Group 1 Qld Derby winner You could not wipe the smile of Kerry’s face when DD won the derby he had a smile from ear to ear and when asked what were the immediate plans he replied DD would go for a brief spell and be aimed at the 5 million Caulfield Cup However the owner although very keen on DD running in the CC wasn’t so keen on Parker training the horse for its next prep hence the horse has been removed from the Parker barn while they make a decision on who will be DDs next trainer It had been revealed interest from Hong Kong but that was all The highs and lows of racing
The Centaur
Yes a familiar occurrence in racing. Kerry Parker might not be the most high profile trainer but I've always found his web site informative and friendly. Without knowing the details there is the situation whereby changing stable doesn't cost anything whereas there may be an agreement where 10% goes to the trainer when there is a sale. Owners that stick with their trainer through thick and thin makes racing. On the subject of changing trainers I noted Ilone Kelly transfer New York Minute to Baker/Forsman yet she owns the horse and is an active trainer herself. Maybe her shift to Levin something to do with it nevertheless interesting.
