Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted May 18, 2021 Journalists Share Posted May 18, 2021 Tonight’s Restricted Win Final (460m) at Warragul looks a beauty, with Sierra Foxtrot out to turn the tables on fellow young gun Aston Rupee after the latter proved too good in their heat last week. WATCH Aston Rupee, a winner of six from 12 who has only missed a place once in his career, was the fastest of the two heat winners when clocking 25.33sec (2.5L off Shima Shine’s track record), while Handsome Jack took out the other qualifier in 25.60sec. WATCH Check out The Watchdog’s comprehensive analysis of tonight’s Must Watch race, along with his $10 spend below. MUST WATCH RACE: The Barn Bar Final (3–6 wins) SIERRA FOXTROT HANDSOME JACK ASTON RUPEE Warragul Race 6 460m 8:25pm Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/565711064/race/6 The Watchdog says : ASTON RUPEE (6) made a stunning return to the track here last week when scoring in a blistering 25.33sec and with an ounce of luck early, he can score again. He is clearly set for a big preparation and he should be winning tonight, however there is a slight concern with the early speed drawn on his outside, so he cannot afford to make too many mistakes early. SIERRA FOXTROT (1) was well beaten by ‘Rupee’ in his heat, but he has a favourable draw tonight and can turn the tables. He has a top record here and can probably get down to the 25.60sec mark, so if the top elect finds bother, he should capitalise. HANDSOME JACK (4) has broken the clock in his past two wins, and he appears to be hitting the line a lot better at present. This is clearly his toughest test, but he has added strength to accompany his scorching early speed and must be respected. MOW A MEADOW (2) has continued to improve in recent weeks and he could add some value to your multi bets. Selections: 6 – 1 – 2 – 4 THE WATCHDOG’S $10 INVESTMENT Tuesday 18 May $3 Multi First : Place – BLACKPOOL ASTRO TAB fixed odds: $1.22 Place (top two finish required) Healesville Race 4 Box 4 300m 12:12pm Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/653836563/race/4 Second : PLACE – ERIC GARFIELD Healesville Race 7 Box 8 350m 1:04pmTAB fixed odds: $1.26 Place (top two finish required) Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/653836563/race/7 Third : Place– DEWANA FAIR GO Healesville Race 8 Box 2 350m 1:26pmTAB fixed odds: $1.45 Place (top two finish required) Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/653836563/race/8 The Watchdog says : BLACKPOOL ASTRO (4) has been enormous since resuming from a spell and he will appreciate the smaller line-up, and with a clean getaway he should not finish outside of the top two. ERIC GARFIELD (8) is drawn where he wants to be and he meets a similar line-up to the one he defeated last week, so a top two finish looks likely. DEWANA FAIR GO (2) has been brilliant in his four starts this year and he returns after six weeks off. He should be primed for this and with his class edge I cannot see him missing the top two. Multi price: $2.22 $2.50 QUADDIE – 9.26% (27 combinations) Healesville Races 5 – 8 12:32pm Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/653836563/race/5 : 1,6,7 : 1 : 1,4,8 : 2,6,7 The Watchdog says : I’m quite confident that UNSOLVED MYSTERY (1) can win Race 6, so he appears to be a great anchor in the quaddie, and we can hopefully find some value in the other legs. We have ERIC GARFIELD (8) and DEWANA FAIR GO (2) in our multi, so as a saver we have added a few selections in those two legs (Races 7 and 8). $3 Win – BLACKJACK LEE Geelong Race 9 Box 1 400m 5:25pmTAB fixed odds: $2 Win Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/565711103/race/9 The Watchdog says : She has been racing well in much stronger company of late and she gets her chance to return to the winners list from her favourite draw. There is some early speed with KATIE CORTIS (2), but she will stay middle to wide and that should allow our selection to zip through mid-race, assume control and score with ease. $1.50 Place – MOW A MEADOW Warragul Race 6 Box 2 460m 8:25pm ***Must Watch Race*** TAB fixed odds: $7 Place Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/565711064/race/6 The Watchdog says : He takes on some goliaths tonight but has been quietly going about his business and turning in some super performances of late. He capped off a great stretch of form with a well deserved win at Cranbourne last week and with the ‘red’ expected to settle on the speed tonight, he should get a nice run through mid-race and could steal some minor money at big odds.
