Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted June 30, 2018 Journalists Posted June 30, 2018 Labeled a TDN Rising Star last term, Shadwell’s Efaadah (Ire) (Dansili {GB}) gained the first pattern-race success she looked destined for in Saturday’s G3 Prix de la Porte Maillot at ParisLongchamp. Restrained in fourth early, the 37-10 shot was delivered with a strong finish by Aurelien Lemaitre to gain the advantage approaching the furlong pole and beat Inns of Court (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) by 1 1/4 lengths, with the same margin back to Jimmy Two Times (Fr) (Kendargent {Fr}) in third. “She’s a nice filly who proved to have a lot of quality last year and things hadn’t gone too well early this season,” trainer Freddy Head said of the May 6 Listed Prix des Lilas winner and June 3 G2 Prix de Sandringham third. “She was unlucky first time out and then it was a combination of the ground being too soft and the mile trip too far. A mile is her limit, as she has a lot of speed and she is certainly better at this seven furlongs. I imagine her next start will be in the [G1 Prix] Maurice de Gheest [at Deauville Aug. 5].” Saturday, ParisLongchamp, FrancePRIX DE LA PORTE MAILLOT-G3, €80,000, ParisLongchamp, 6-30, 3yo/up, 7fT, 1:20.29, g/s.1–EFAADAH (IRE), 116, f, 3, by Dansili (GB)1st Dam: Albaraah (Ire) (SW & GSP-Fr, $101,503), by Oasis Dream (GB)2nd Dam: Coconut Show (GB), by Linamix (Fr)3rd Dam: Vingt et Une (Fr), by Sadler’s Wells1ST GROUP WIN.
