Runner-up on debut in a six-furlong maiden on Lingfield’s Polytrack May 29, Royal Intervention leapt forward from that effort under a masterful front-running ride from Gerald Mosse to open her black-type account in dynamic fashion. Always travelling easily on the front end, the 9-1 shot who is a half-sister to the 2006 GI Beverly D S. winner Gorella (Fr) (Grape Tree Road {GB}) relished the uphill climb to the line to score by 4 1/2 lengths from Strings of Life (GB) (Slade Power {Ire}), with 3/4 of a length back to Impulsion (Ire) (Footstepsinthesand {GB}) in third. “I was not surprised, as she ran very well first time when she was a bit green but really hit the line,” Mosse said. “She wasn’t getting tired there and was quite keen again here. She has speed and ability and is better in front as she has a big stride.”
