Colts Neck Stable’s MARKET BUBBLE (c, 2, Fed Biz-Tulipmania, by Empire Maker) became the first winner for his WinStar-based freshman sire (by Giant’s Causeway), coming with a stinging final-furlong rally to graduate at first asking in the day’s opening race by Belmont Park. Backed down late into 5-2 joint second favoritism, the bay colt was hustled along early by Junior Alvarado to chase from third as favored The Postmaster (Cosmonaut) took them along at just a moderate pace. A bit one-paced nearing the lane, Market Bubble responded when asked in upper stretch and kicked home smartly, shading :23 seconds to score by about 3/4 of a length. Colts Neck Stables bred Fed Biz, a three-time graded winner and Grade I-placed on both turf and dirt. The winner’s SW & GSP second dam Eventail (Lear Fan), a half-sister to MGISW and top producer Take Charge Lady (Dehere), was responsible for Straight Story (Giant’s Causeway), a $400,000 KEESEP yearling who carried the Colts Neck colors to a 38-1 upset of the GII Autumn S. at Woodbine and was also victorious in the grassy GIII Fort Marcy S. and runner-up in the GI Jamaica H. A $185,000 graduate of the 2016 Fasig-Tipton New York-Bred Sale, Market Bubble was a $375,000 graduate of this year’s OBS March sale after breezing a quarter-mile in :21 1/5. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0. O-Colts Neck Stable; B-Gallagher’s Stud (NY); T-Alan Goldberg.
