Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted June 5, 2021 Journalists Share Posted June 5, 2021 Godolphin homebred Althiqa (GB) (f, 4, Dark Angel {Ire}–Mistrusting {Ire}, by Shamardal) weaved her way through traffic in deep stretch and closed with a powerful late rush to just edge pacesetting stablemate Summer Romance (Ire) (Kingman {GB}) to win the GI Longines Just a Game S. at Belmont Park Saturday. The 7-1 shot settled back in the field as Summer Romance took the field through fractions of :23.43 and :46.90. Althiqa found a seam to run through late and darted past her stablemate, completing the mile in 1:33.90. Althiqa, who won the Jan. 28 G2 Cape Verdi S. at Meydan and was third behind Summer Romance last time out in the Feb. 18 G2 Balanchine S. Lifetime Record: 10-5-2-3. O/B-Godolphin; T-Charlie Appleby.
