Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted June 16, 2021 Journalists Share Posted June 16, 2021 Charlie Appleby's month just got better as Kemari (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) provided the outfit with a Royal Ascot winner in the G2 Queen's Vase, which lost one of its leading players at the start as Ballydoyle's Kyprios (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) was withdrawn after going down in the stalls. Breaking his maiden by six lengths over an extended 11 furlongs at Yarmouth May 28, the gelding was always travelling easily drafting behind the pace-setting fellow Godolphin runner Law of the Sea (GB) (Golden Horn {GB}). Getting the gap heading to the two-furlong pole, the 15-2 shot was through and soon in the clear under William Buick and despite drifting left hit the line with 1 1/2 lengths to spare over the 10-3 favourite Wordsworth (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), with Stowell (GB) (Zoffany {Ire}) 1 1/4 lengths behind in third.
