Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted June 28, 2021 Journalists Share Posted June 28, 2021 A number of the most professional greyhounds in the land will head to Healesville today. Man Absconded (21 from 57), Hello George (12 from 18 Trk/Dis), Rilynn Bale (30 from 60) and Fortuna Bale (25 from 59) are all super dependable, while a clash between emerging stars Duncan (9 from 17) v Soda Diamond (10 from 16) will create plenty of interest among straight racing fans. Meanwhile, city-class sprinter Kaheem Bale (8 from 15) returns from a six-week layoff to make his straight track debut against the likes of G1 Sapphire Crown finalist Persian Goddess and the in-form Aubameyang (3 of past 4). A cracking clash also looms large in tonight’s $10K Meadows to Shepparton Final, with SA star Craggy Island (19 from 29) looking to extend his winning streak to seven against talented Gippsland sprinter Perfect Product (7 from 14). Here’s an extensive analysis of today’s Must Watch Race, and be sure to scroll down further for The Watchdog’s $10 spend… MUST-WATCH RACE: Meadows to Shepparton Final CRAGGY ISLAND PERFECT PRODUCTShepparton Race 5 450m 8:25pm Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/625474504/race/5 The Watchdog says : Great series with these chasers qualifying through heats at The Meadows last week. CRAGGY ISLAND (4) is expected to start favourite and, with a record of 19 wins from 29 outings, he is hard to look past. Last time out, he stepped up to an unsuitable journey and clocked sizzling sectionals before getting tired and holding on to score in a steady 30.51sec at The Meadows. Tonight, he drops back to the 450m trip, and he is expected to carve out blistering time in front. PERFECT PRODUCT (6) has been lighting up Sale in recent months and he followed that form up with a dazzling 30.25sec heat win at The Meadows. He does not possess as much early speed as ‘Craggy’, but he is the stronger of the two and, if he can turn for home within two lengths, he will make things interesting. DARK COMPASS (1) is as honest as they come, and he probably rounds out the winning chances. He has raced well from this draw in the past and if the favourites happen to make a mistake, he will be there to capitalise late. Selections: 4 – 6 – 1 – 7 THE WATCHDOG’S $10 INVESTMENT Monday 28 June $2 Quaddie – 40% (5 combinations) Healesville Races 5 – 8 12:49pm *** Includes our Must Watch Race***Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/678203700/race/5 : 5 : 1,4,5,6,8 : 2 : 5 The Watchdog says : Looks to be a straightforward Quaddie today, with MAN ABSCONDED (5), HELLO GEORGE (2) and RILYNN BALE (5) all expected to salute at skinny odds, however the second leg is a raffle, so we have gone wide there. $2 Win – SOUND THE BUGLE Warrnambool Race 9 Box 3 390m 5:03pmTAB fixed odds: $2.60 WinForm https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/678203701/race/9 The Watchdog says : She is clearly a lot better than her form reads and will appreciate the slight drop in class today. She is armed with slick early speed and that should allow her to set up a nice break in the middle stages and prove too strong in the run home. $3 Multi First : Win – ASTON CINNAMON Ballarat Race 12 Box 1 390m 6:44pmTAB fixed odds: $2.40 Win Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/565960246/race/12 Second : Win – I’M EASY BOYS Shepparton Race 7 Box 1 650m 9:04pmTAB fixed odds: $1.80 Win Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/625474504/race/7 The Watchdog says : ASTON CINNAMON (1) returned to racing with a top 22.77sec win here last week and from the inside draw she is expected to lead throughout once again. I’M EASY BOYS (1) beat a good line-up at Sandown Park over 715m last time out and he is better suited back to this distance range. He will be skinny odds, but he has a fair bit on these. Multi price: $4.32 $3 Place – DARK COMPASS Shepparton Race 5 Box 1 450m 8:25pmTAB fixed odds: $2.20 Place ***Must Watch Race*** Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/625474504/race/5 The Watchdog says : He runs into a couple of jetliners, however he has loads of talent himself and from the inside draw he can run a massive race. He has an average beginner drawn on his outside, so he should get more than enough room to balance up, and he can carve out impressive sectionals when in the clear, so with a clear passage a top three finish looks likely.
