Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted July 16, 2021 Journalists Share Posted July 16, 2021 There’ll be plenty of ‘fur’ flying between the Tigers and the Lions tonight. So, who will come out ‘purring’? TAB has entered the battle of the ‘big cats’ with a tempting AFL/Greys offer sure to give the ‘Tiger tribe’ back some voice. The betting behemoth is offering $3.50 on Richmond losing by 18pts or less – or even winning – against Brisbane and champ Christo Bale scoring at Geelong greyhounds. Richmond is 12th on the AFL ladder with seven wins, while Brisbane is fourth with 11 wins. Last week, the Pies ‘swooped’ on the Tigers to the tune of 16pts while the Saints went ‘marching in’ over the Lions by 32pts. Meanwhile, TAB’s $1.70F Christo Bale will face off with rising staying star Mepunga Ruby ($2.00) – a winner of seven races from only 11 starts, including the Pink Diamond Rookie Distance final – in a GDR Special Event (680m). Trained by Mark Delbridge at Balliang, Christo Bale has won 28 races (with 11 seconds and 11 thirds) from 65 starts. He’s won eight of his past 10 starts. One of the sport’s most versatile greyhounds, Christo Bale has contested six Group 1 finals, including runner-up in the Hume Cup (600m) and a third placing in the TAB Topgun (525m) – both at The Meadows. And he recently made it back-to-back wins in the G2 McKenna Memorial (595m) at Sandown Park. The Tigers v Lions clash at Metricon Stadium, Qld – due to latest COVID-19 outbreaks – commences at 7.50pm, while Christo Bale is in Race 8 Box 2 at 9.28pm. WATCH: Christo Bale (2) makes it back-to-back G2 McKenna Memorial wins at Sandown Park on July 8. The post Christo & Tigers ‘purring’? appeared first on BOAY Racing News.
