Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted July 21, 2021 Journalists Share Posted July 21, 2021 Healesville Greyhound Association will proceed with conducting the inaugural Highway 31 Maiden Challenge (300m) on Tuesday 24 August (heats) & Sunday 29th August (final), however heats at Richmond Greyhound Racing Club will no longer occur as part of this series. The decision to modify this event – which was to be a state-versus-state rivalry between Victoria and New South Wales with heats at Healesville and Richmond leading into a final at Healesville – is due to the current impact of COVID-19. Interstate trained greyhounds are eligible to be nominated for heats at Healesville but participants must adhere to all COVID-19 restrictions and procedures. The Highway 31 Maiden Challenge is an event for maiden greyhounds with a maximum of eight heats to be conducted on Tuesday 24 August. The winner of the Highway 31 Maiden Challenge Final will receive $10,000 plus trophy and rug. Greyhounds that finish 4th to 8th in the final will receive a $200 petrol card.
