Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted July 23, 2021 Journalists Share Posted July 23, 2021 A six-day back-up and a 13-hour return road trip paid dividends for trainers Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young when they won the Mildura Cup with Sierra Sue on Friday. The talented mare, who raced at Flemington just last Saturday, enjoyed a significant drop in grade and proved too strong for her rivals with John Allen aboard. “We were fairly confident coming up here,” travelling foreman Trent Murphy said. “She might have just needed the run last week … to top her off for today. “It’s good to get a win for them (owners, including Ozzie Kheir).” Getting out to the middle of the track, Sierra Sue showed her class in the closing stages of the race to record a dominant victory. “She was probably the class horse in the race, but a couple of queries. She only run last Saturday and the softer ground today,” Allen said. “She acquitted herself well. She always travelled nicely. We got a nice run. “Once she levelled out, she really put the race to bed. She’s raced in better races before, but it’s still nice to get the Mildura Cup.” The post Sierra Sue storms to Mildura Cup appeared first on BOAY Racing News.
