Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted August 1, 2021 Journalists Share Posted August 1, 2021 The Monmouth Park stewards issued a ruling Sunday morning that Flavien Prat would be suspended for seven calendar days for his ride aboard Hot Rod Charlie (Oxbow) in the Haskell S. The ruling came after a July 29 hearing. The suspension runs from Sept. 7 through Sept. 13. It was not immediately known if Prat would file an appeal. The stewards found that Prat's actions were in violations of racing regulations which state: “When clear, a horse may be taken to any part of the course, but no horse may cross over or weave in front of other horses in such a way to impede them or constitute or cause interference or intimidation.” In deep stretch, Hot Rod Carlie appeared to come over and impede Midnight Bourbon, causing him to clip heels and fall.
