An eight-part card at Cranbourne Turf Club is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, and HorseBetting’s Victorian form analyst presents his best bets and quaddie selections for the meeting. The track is rated a Heavy 8, the rail is out 9m for the entire circuit, and racing is set to get underway at 12:25pm AEST.

Cranbourne Best Best: The Awesome Son

Our best bet on the program comes up when the Julius Sandhu-trained The Awesome Son steps out over 1600m. The four-year-old son of Not A Single Doubt was last seen finishing 1.5 lengths off Seiners Express at Flemington on July 17, with that winner subsequently running nicely behind I’m Thunderstruck. Despite finishing seventh in that race, The Awesome Son showed plenty of potential when running on from the rear of the field. If the track at Cranbourne is playing fairly and backmarkers are able to make ground, this one should be too good for his rivals late as he brings up his maiden at start three.

Best BetRace 3 – The Awesome Son (#6) $2.50 with Bet365

Next Best at Cranbourne: Please Sir

In the third leg of the quaddie, the Allan & Jason Williams-trained Please Sir is out to make it two wins from his past three starts when he returns to Cranbourne. The four-year-old Outreach gelding led for all bar the last yard at Sale on July 25, and on the quick backup he should appreciate stepping down to 1300m from 1415m. Two starts back he managed to win over the Cranbourne 1400m when he put three lengths on his rivals in an all-the-way victory. From barrier 13, Craig Williams will have no choice but to go forward on the gelding, and with a quiet time out in front the pair should prove too hard to run down.

Next BestRace 7 – Please Sir (#5) $3.60 with Sportsbet

Cranbourne Value Bet: Milliondollarbill

The return over 1400m at Sandown on July 21 when finishing fifth suggested that the Peter & Paul Snowden-trained Milliondollarbill has returned in fine form. He was always going to get better over further, and stepping up to 1600m second-up from a spell looks ideal or the Epaulette gelding. He has one start at Cranbourne for one win, so we know he can handle the unique confinements of the track. If he brings his best form on Wednesday, he will be simply too good for this BM70 field.

Best ValueRace 5 – Milliondollarbill (#5) $7 with Sportsbet
