HorseBetting’s Sydney form analyst brings you his best bets and quaddie selections for the seven-race card that will be run on the Kensington course at Randwick on Wednesday. The track is currently rated a Good 4, the rail is out 2m for the entire course, and the meeting is set to start at 12:50pm AEST.

Randwick Best Bet: Trifaccia

James Cummings and James McDonald combine in the third race of the day with the talented Trifaccia. This I Am Invincible filly has had just three career starts to date, finishing third at this track and trip on debut in maiden company before running third in the Group 2 Riesling Stakes at Randwick. Her only other start was a seventh-place result in the Group 2 Percy Sykes Stakes after getting too far back in the run, yet she finished only three lengths off Jamaea and Crystal Bound. The Godolphin prospect has been very green in all three starts and seemingly had a lot to learn, but we are confident some time in the paddock and her recent trial performance has fixed her up. She could be in for a big spring as she gets out over a little further, so this looks the perfect steppingstone towards those bigger goals.

Best BetRace 3 – Trifaccia (#10) $2.20 with Sportsbet

Next Best at Randwick: Kutayha

James McDonald can ride back-to-back winners on Wednesday if he gives Kutayha a similar steer to what he did a fortnight ago. The Chris Waller-trained gelding was a dominant winner at this track over 1550m on July 21 and now rises to what looks an even more suitable distance at 1800m. The five-year-old son of Savabeel has been racing in top form this campaign, with a third-placed effort behind No Compromise and Lackeen two starts ago one of the highlights. Barrier seven will see Kutayha sent towards the rear of the field again, but there looks to be plenty of speed on paper to set it up for a backmarker. The consistent galloper seems to do his best racing on drier tracks, so the Good 4 conditions should be to his liking. We are confident he will get home over the top of his rivals again.

Best BetRace 4 – Kutayha (#2) $2.90 with Sportsbet

Randwick Value Bet: Icecrusher

It is not often you see a Morphettville-based galloper go around at Randwick on a Wednesday, but that is exactly what Shayne Cahill has elected to do with Icecrusher. The daughter of American stallion Frost Giant has been in top form of late, finishing in the top three in all five runs this prep and winning two of those. Hugh Bowman has been booked to ride the consistent seven-year-old mare, who has won nine of her 40 career starts. From barrier four, the top-weight is likely to just hold a position in the middle of the field, which should give Bowman plenty of options as they head for home. The 1550m is right on Icecrusher’s pet distance having won three from nine at the mile, so we expect her to be right in the finish here.

Best BetRace 6 – Icecrusher (#1) $5.50 with Sportsbet
