Racing heads to Hawkesbury on Tuesday afternoon, and HorseBetting’s New South Wales form analyst presents his best bets and quaddie selections for the seven-race card. The track is rated a Good 4 with the rail returning to the true position, and the meeting is scheduled to begin at 1:10pm AEST.

Hawkesbury Best Bet: Star Cherie

Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou send their four-year-old mare Star Cherie to Hawkesbury following her win on July 20 over the Wyong 1000m, where she settled outside the leader, ground away at Head On Up and prevailed over the concluding stages. Having finished outside of the top three on one occasion in five career starts, the Star Witness mare hardly knows how to run a poor race. Regular jockey James Innes Jr will stick on board and from barrier five will look to find the lead, and if he manages to do so, Star Cherie should be too slick for her rivals over 1100m.

Best BetRace 2 – Star Cherie (#2) $3.30 with Ladbrokes

Next Best at Hawkesbury: Armatree

In the third leg of the quaddie, the four-year-old Armatree comes to Hawkesbury second-up from a spell, where he looks perfectly placed to bring up a deserved win. He was strong first-up at Kensington on July 28 without really threatening, but this is a much easier assignment than what he faced on that occasion. The Vancouver gelding regains the services of the in-form James McDonald, who will look to settle in the second half of the field. Armatree has the sharpest turn of foot in the race, so he should prove too hard to hold out if he is close enough upon straightening.

Next BestRace 6 – Armatree (#1) $3.50 with Ladbrokes

Hawkesbury Value Bet: Just Tozza

In the opening leg of the quaddie, the Jason Coyle-trained Just Tozza presents great value having stepped back from a strong Saturday race at Rosehill on July 24. The four-year-old son of Dundeel managed a smart win at Goulburn on July 9 two starts back when sustaining a run from midfield and cruising home over the final 200m. He threw away his chances of winning at Rosehill last start with poor barrier manners, but if he has improved those issues, we expect him to prove difficult to hold out over 1600m.

Best ValueRace 4 – Just Tozza (#2) $9 with Sportsbet
