Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted August 10, 2021 Journalists Share Posted August 10, 2021 What Doomben Races Where Doomben Racecourse – 75 Hampden Street, Ascot QLD 4007 When Wednesday, August 11, 2021 First Race 12:33pm AEST Watch Live Streaming Live at Sportsbet HorseBetting’s Queensland form analyst brings you his best bets, value bets and quaddie numbers for Doomben’s eight-race metropolitan card on Wednesday afternoon. The track is rated a Soft 5, the rail will be out 5m for the entire course, and the first race is set to jump at 12:33pm AEST. Doomben Best Bet: Quackery While we have made it well known that James Orman is flying in the saddle so far this season, trainer Steven Tregea is also training winners galore, which makes this combination very formidable in the third. Quackery won for Orman at the Sunshine Coast on July 25, beating Whitewater and a subsequent placegetter in Crazy Eyed Fred by two lengths over 1200m. Quackery was given a lovely ride by Orman that day from barrier nine, settling outside the leader. On Wednesday, the four-year-old gelding has drawn the middle of the line in gate five, which should allow him to settle in a similar spot again. The son of Exosphere should relish being at 1200m again and can continue to add to Orman’s and Tregea’s winning ways. Best BetRace 3 – Quackery (#6) $3.50 with Sportsbet Next Best at Doomben: Super Gorgeous Brian Smith’s gelding Super Gorgeous has started his career off in a bit of style, winning two of his five career starts and placing a further two times. The son of Zoustar has won both of his starts at Ipswich and has placed behind the likes of Princess Tenko and So Clever, who have both got good metropolitan form. The four-year-old finished fifth at Eagle Farm last time out behind Boom Spender in a competitive Saturday race. Back to midweek company and on to a more forgiving surface at Doomben, the talented type should improve greatly and be very hard to beat, especially given Marnu Potgieter takes 3kg off with his apprentice allowance. Barrier 11 should see Super Gorgeous go forward and be well and truly within striking distance when it matters. Next BestRace 7 – Super Gorgeous (#10) $3.70 with Sportsbet Doomben Value Bet: Schnitty Three-year-old filly Schnitty lines up in just her second career start, after just missing on debut when a well-supported favourite on July 25 in the same meeting that Quackery comes out of. The well-named daughter of Snitzel had trialled twice leading up to her debut, winning one of those, before putting in a strong finish over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast in maiden grade. The Steven O’Dea & Matthew Hoysted-trained runner now rises to 1200m and drops 2.5kg to 54.5kg, both of which will be advantageous. Michael Cahill has been the sole rider of this filly in both trials and on debut, and they have drawn ideally in barrier four to get a fair crack at them. Top Bird came out of the same race to win well at the Gold Coast on Saturday, further franking the form around Schnitty for this one. Best ValueRace 4 – Schnitty (#10) $6.50 with Sportsbet Doomben quaddie tips for August 11, 2021 Doomben quadrella selections Leg 1: 1-4-8-10 Leg 2: 5-6-7 Leg 3: 1-2-7-9-10 Leg 4: 5-9 Investment: $120 for 100% See more horse racing tips View the full article
