A lot of the ex racing journo's failed to adjust to the internet era. They always expected some outfit like Fairfax or the Racing Board to  be paying their weekly wages. O'Hearn did at least get his own web site going though.

However take someone like Brenda Collins who started up a brilliant breeding magazine. Going out getting advertising revenue plus talking nicely to the bank manager much harder than churning out mundane material for the Racing Board or Fairfax for a weekly pay check.

So what recognition did Brenda get. Very little as far as I can see. No wonder she left the industry in disgust.

Was she only doing it for " recognition " ?

Did that stardust man Murray ever get one too dee?

Don Murray is an absolute mongrel and the last one to get anything from NZ racing.

As I suspected in the above thread...

" a bunch of f'ers swearing" wins

If you call a few tweets, a swearing session and setting up a betting club to get pissed and have a few bets....'Media'

Then well done...they deserved it

Brain's texted this morning...a bit scary..The Brexit vote only got 51%...100% is a bit out there

In three days we get the Messara Report which will save NZ racing from its state of crises, but only if the Minister adopts it 100% and appoints the very best people to execute it – the ones who’ve been there too long and failed have to go otherwise we all go down with the ship!
