Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted September 19, 2021 Journalists Posted September 19, 2021 Godolphin's WILD BEAUTY (GB) (f, 2, Frankel {GB}–Tulips {Ire}, by Pivotal {GB}) became the first North American top-level winner for her superb stallion, overcoming a check at the start before storming home through the final furlong to prove a much-the-best winner of the GI Natalma S. Sunday at Woodbine. After sharing favoritism with Saratoga raider Pizza Bianca (Fastnet Rock {Aus}) for the bulk of the wagering, the homebred tightened into 7-5 favoritism, but looked to have it all to do early on, as she was steadied off heels shortly after the break and raced in a clear last. Asked to improve her position by Frankie Dettori down the backstretch, Wild Beauty was asked for a bit more acceleration leaving the three-eighths pole, swung out five or six wide into the long Woodbine straight and kicked home to score impressively. Pizza Bianca, the 3-1 second pick, sat a midfield trip and found traffic at a crucial stage, though it was perhaps academic at that point, as Wild Beauty had already fled the scene. Eminent Victor (Mr. Z) rallied for third in her first start for Michael Dubb, The Elkstone Group and Louis Lazzinaro and trainer Chad Brown. With the victory, Wild Beauty earns herself a spot in the field for the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Del Mar Nov. 5. O/B-Godolphin (GB); T-Charlie Appleby.
