Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted September 20, 2021 Journalists Share Posted September 20, 2021 The challenges are coming thick and fast for exciting youngster Dynamic Prince early in his career and he’ll face another tough test at Shepparton on Monday night. After winning his first two starts, Dynamic Prince (3 from 4) was thrown in the deep end by trainer Peter Presutto, tackling the G2 Healesville Cup heats at just his third run but the rookie speedster was up to the task, running a close third to superstar Tiggerlong Tonk. It won’t get much easier at Shepparton tonight, where Dynamic Prince will face several other rising stars in Jason Thompson’s duo In The Spotlight (4 from 5) and True Collinda (5 from 10), as well as Jimmy Auld’s Soda Titan (4 from 12 – 3 from 5 Trk/Dst) in The Watchdog’s Must Watch race. Jason Thompson will produce another Shepparton headline act in last start G2 Healesville Cup finalist Mr. America (9 from 18 – 2 from 2 Trk/Dst), which is drawn to continue his impressive form since resuming from a lengthy lay-off. Also not to be missed is what shapes as a thrilling speed duel between former 385m track record holders Oriental Amber (24 from 49 – 4 from 6 Trk/Dst – 5 from 9 Box 2) and Benchester (25 from 70). Correy and Samantha Grenfell have two key contenders in the Grade 5 450m final in Kinson Bale (8 from 34 – 3 from 4 Trk/Dst) and Yohan Bale (10 from 37), with Michelle Mallia’s Boom Out (7 from 14) also sure to be prominent. Mister Frank (8 from 25) will take aim at back-to-back victories after winning in fast time a week ago. Meanwhile at Warrnambool, Bett’s Blues (8 from 24 – 3 of past 5) is among the standouts. Here’s an extensive analysis of today’s Must Watch Race, and be sure to scroll down further for The Watchdog’s $10 spend… MUST-WATCH RACE: Goulburn Valley Sprint (1 – 4 Wins) Final DYNAMIC PRINCE SODA TITAN IN THE SPOTLIGHT TRUE COLLINDA Shepparton Race 5 450m 8:26pm Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666538977/race/5 The Watchdog says : Intriguing line-up which sees a host of exciting youngsters set for battle. IN THE SPOTLIGHT (4) is expected to start favourite and rightly so, having won four of five to date (80%), and he carved out a dynamic 25.15sec in his heat win. He has proven to be a reliable beginner and he did spear the lids in his heat and that allowed him to go a blistering 6.52sec to the first marker. Obviously, if he produces something similar, he can pounce on the lead and score, however tonight’s event features an abundance of early pace, so he is likely to cop a lot more pressure in the initial stages. His kennel mate TRUE COLLINDA (8) was a dominant 25.27sec heat winner and she has more scope for improvement. She has only had the two runs for her new kennel and appears to be on the improve and if the inside division happens to bunch up, she could be off and gone through the bend and she can push the 25 seconds barrier. SODA TITAN (3) has busted the magical 25 seconds barrier here previously, so he is more than capable of scoring. But he does get back early in his races, so he will need a few things to go his way in the run. DYNAMIC PRINCE (2) is the intriguing runner. He has only had the four starts, but he has won three, and on each occasion he has shown a breathtaking turn of foot once balanced. He will need a few things to go his way, but with the vacant draw inside, he should get a nice run through and he will be in contention as they negotiate the bend. It really is a cracking line-up and it will be worthwhile following a number of these runners going forward. Selections: 8 – 4 – 3 – 2 THE WATCHDOG’S $10 INVESTMENT Monday 20 September $1 Exacta – 1 / 6 (100%) $1 Exacta – 1 / 2,5,8 (33.33%) Warrnambool Race 5 450m 12:42pmForm https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666538978/race/5 The Watchdog says : BRANSON BALE (1) likes to scout wide, but he does have good muster and should be able to hold the top through the bend. We have gone heavy with TRENDY TOUCHDOWN (6) to finish second as I believe he is the main danger. ASTON PRINCE (5) is a promising pup, however he is poorly drawn and is under the odds, so we have included ROWCHESTER SUGAR (2) and READY TO LAUNCH (8) as value runners for second in another investment. $1 Win – DYNAMIC PRINCE $1 Win – TRUE COLLINDA Shepparton Race 5 Boxes 2 & 8 450m 8:26pm Must Watch Race TAB fixed odds: $5 Win (Dynamic Prince)TAB fixed odds: $4.40 Win (True Collinda)Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666538977/race/5 The Watchdog says : DYNAMIC PRINCE (2) will appreciate the empty draw inside and he is armed with a breathtaking turn of foot, so if he can step evenly, he should be in the mix as they head into the bend, and he continues to get better with every run. TRUE COLLINDA (8) has been impressive in her two runs since joining the Thompson kennel and she is expected to figure prominently again. Her box manners are solid, but her biggest asset is her acceleration and with COMBUST (7) looking for the rail early on, she should get a nice cart across in the initial stages. $1 Win – MANIA Lucky Longshot $2 Win – BOOM OUT Shepparton Race 6 Box 4 450m 8:48pmTAB fixed odds: $8 WinTAB fixed odds: $4.40 WinForm https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666538977/race/6 The Watchdog says : BOOM OUT (4) is still learning what it is all about and he takes on an elite line-up tonight, however he was huge in his heat and with a better getaway tonight, I think he can get the job done. From the mat to the 80m mark, he has the best turn of speed of the eight runners and he appears to be getting stronger with every run. MANIA (1) is expected to lead in the initial stages and if there is some shuffling behind her, she could get left with a big break as they turn for home, so she represents some value. $3 Multi First : Win – MR. AMERICA Shepparton Race 8 Box 1 450m 9:32pmTAB fixed odds: $1.40 WinForm https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666538977/race/8 Second : Place – GLAMOROUS LASS Shepparton Race 9 Box 7 450m 9:54pmTAB fixed odds: $1.40 PlaceForm https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666538977/race/9 Third : Place – ORIENTAL AMBER Shepparton Race 10 Box 2 385m 10:14pmTAB fixed odds: $1.16 Place (Top two finish required)Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666538977/race/10 The Watchdog says : MR. AMERICA (1) has been brilliant since returning to the track and is drawn to make every post a winner. GLAMOROUS LASS (7) is armed with slick early speed and she likes to stay wide in her races. With an even getaway, she should settle in the top two and figure in the finish. ORIENTAL AMBER (2) is the former track record holder here, she will have a great battle with BENCHESTER (7) and a top two finish looks likely.
