Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted September 27, 2021 Journalists Share Posted September 27, 2021 Three-year-old filly Khan’s Treasure (NZ) (Mongolian Khan) broke maiden ranks over 1600m at Swan Hill on Monday for Barry Goodwin and looks to have a future over ground. The daughter of Windsor Park Stud stallion Mongolian Khan was perfectly ridden by Zac Spain, finding a position just off the speed before accelerating past her rivals in the run to the line. “She drew a little bit sticky and wasn’t great to begin, but she was able to get a spot three pairs back and one-off and follow Ben Brisbourne’s horse Bella Vinci Dove (by Shocking) which I thought was the main danger,” Foreman Reece Goodwin said. “He produced her at the right time and she was able to knuckle down late and get the win. “Now that she has shown she can run a mile, and possibly further, I think that is when she is going to show her best. “She is going to take a lot of benefit out of today’s win. She labored halfway down the straight but then drew away.” Khan’s Treasure is a graduate of last year’s New Zealand Bloodstock Book 2 Yearling Sale and is a half-sister to Group Three placed Tinkalicious (NZ) (Nadeem). She was knocked down to Mark Pilkington for $70,000 from the draft of Highview Stud. View the full article
