Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted September 29, 2021 Journalists Share Posted September 29, 2021 Zipping Rambo (17 from 37 – 2 from 4 Box 8) ran an encouraging fourth last Wednesday night after a two-month layoff and The Watchdog is tipping the G1 Sandown Cup champion to prevail tonight at Ballarat in the Mixed 4/5 450m race. Irene’s A Star, Trending Air and Westar Misty are considered the biggest dangers to Zipping Rambo. Kraken Spike v Say Hi v Habib (2 from 5 Box 3) v G1 finalist I’m Easy Boys should be a tight contest along with Sharni’s My Girl (5 from 7 Box 1) v Instruction (8 from 22) v Graclyn Bale (2 of last 4) v Fernando’s Quest. Aston Tango (3 from 7) v Weblec Thunder v Pirates Patch (2 of last 4) v Daph’s Zac is a tough event to pick the winner of, but Propelled (3 from 9), Zimmer Bale (3 from 6 Box 3) and multiple Group finalist Dream Wizard (22 from 61) are all expected to prevail. Incendio (7 from 15), last Thursday night’s incredible winner Rocket Boy (30 from 59) and 139-start veteran Run Baba Run are fancied to boost their respective strike rates at Geelong this evening. Call Me Buster (7 from 19) v Russian Sub (3 of last 4) v Caroline (4 from 8) should be a great battle, while Pink Diamond winner Sweet Petit (4 of last 6) v dual Group finalist Well Grounded v Denise’s Vision v Valeska Bale (2 of last 3) is another even race. At The Meadows, Earthworm Jim (2 from 5) and Titan Blazer (4 from 9) should be too strong for their rivals, while Redzin v G3 finalist Overflow Lisa v Sandra’s Sticker v Flying Foxy is an intriguing affair. Strategic is predicted by The Watchdog to finish the card at Bendigo on the winners’ list. Here’s an extensive analysis of today’s Must Watch Race, and be sure to scroll down further for The Watchdog’s $10 spend… MUST-WATCH RACE: Revolution Print Mixed 4/5 IRENE’S A STAR TRENDING AIR WESTAR MISTY ZIPPING RAMBO Ballarat Race 7 450m 8:58pm Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539005/race/7 The Watchdog says : Champion stayer ZIPPING RAMBO (8) made his return to the track here last week, and although he is better suited to a longer journey, he was far from disgraced when finishing just outside the placings behind his star kennelmate Jarick Bale. He exited the red last week, so from the pink tonight, he appears better suited and with the pace directly underneath, he should get a nice run into the first turn. Luck is always a factor for ‘Rambo’ over this journey but if he can turn within three lengths of the leaders, he should be able to reel them in. TRENDING AIR (6) is a bit of a Ballarat specialist, and she can come out running at times. She has carved out a sizzling 25.12sec here previously and a repeat of that would see her give this a shake. WESTAR MISTY (7) is armed with slick early speed, and she is a lot better than her form indicates. She will need to cross and lead to score, however if she has to work hard, she can still kick on for some minor money. ZIVON BALE (1) and IRENE’S A STAR (2) round out the serious chances. ‘Zivon’ has a good turn of foot and with ‘Irene’ expected to move off the track initially, he should get every chance to balance up. The only concern for him, will be the heat coming from out wide. This is a really intriguing affair and any one of the five runners mentioned could get the cash. Selections: 8 – 6 – 7 – 2 THE WATCHDOG’S $10 INVESTMENT Wednesday 29 September $3 Multi First : Win – COLLINDA LADY The Meadows Race 3 Box 6 525m 12:47pmTAB fixed odds: $1.70 WinForm https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539003/race/3 Second : Win – EARTHWORM JIM The Meadows Race 4 Box 2 525m 1:05pmTAB fixed odds: $1.45 WinForm https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539003/race/4 The Watchdog says : COLLINDA LADY (6) showed enormous potential in her first prep with a scorching 24.66sec Sale win and she makes her debut for the powerful Thompson kennel today. LOXTON BALE (1) was impressive last week, however the smaller line-up should assist COLLINDA LADY (6) and she will be carving out time. EARTHWORM JIM (2) was desperately unlucky here last week, and he is a star prospect. The small line-up will suit and even if he is not great away, he should be able to muster through into the top two at the bend and the prove too strong late. Multi price: $2.46 $4 Multi First : Win – EARTHWORM JIM The Meadows Race 4 Box 2 525m 1:05pmTAB fixed odds: $1.45 WinForm https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539003/race/4 Second : Win – BLUE REDEEMER Bendigo Race 1 Box 8 425m 3:22pmTAB fixed odds: $2 WinForm https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/697706137/race/1 The Watchdog says : EARTHWORM JIM (2) is the best anywhere today, so we have anchored him in the multis. As mentioned previously, he was unlucky here last week, and he is expected to make amends today. BLUE REDEEMER (8) was super impressive on debut at Warrnambool and from the good draw today, he can atone for his two luckless runs since. His box manners are not great, but he does explode soon after and he will stay wide, so there should be no excuses. Multi price: $2.90 $1 Trifecta – 2 / 1 / 4,8 (50%) The Meadows Race 4 525m 1:05pmForm https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539003/race/4 The Watchdog says : EARTHWORM JIM (2) should assume control at the bend and score. CHILLOUT COOKIE (1) can carve out time when chasing a fast one and he should follow ‘Jim’ throughout. TRIVET (4) is a strong type and could add some value for third, whilst WEBLEC CRUISER (8) is the obvious selection for third and needs to be included. $1 Win – NICKY MUSTANG Lucky Longshot Geelong Race 4 Box 3 460m 7:50pmTAB fixed odds: $9.50 WinForm https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/708251682/race/4 The Watchdog says : He can be a little hit or miss early but he caught the eye at Ballarat three runs back and he is suited by the step up to 460m tonight. He meets a few handy ones and will need a few things to go his way, however he does appear to be value at the price. $1 Exacta – 8 / 1,2,6,7 (25%) Ballarat Race 7 450m 8:58pm Must Watch Race Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539005/race/7 The Watchdog says : ZIPPING RAMBO (8) looks ideally drawn out wide and I think he can settle close enough at the bend, so that he can run over the top in the closing stages. We have included the four on-speed runners for second and hopefully we can get one of the value runners to hold on for that spot.
