Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted October 2, 2021 Journalists Posted October 2, 2021 ART COLLECTOR (c, 4, Bernardini–Distorted Legacy, by Distorted Humor) dominated Saturday's repositioned GI Woodward S. on the front end at Belmont, reporting home some two lengths to the good of odds-on Maxfield (Street Sense) and stopping the clock in 1:49.22. Dr Post (Quality Road) rounded out the trifecta. A standout sophomore last year with wins in the GII Blue Grass S. and Ellis Park Derby, Art Collector was fourth in the GI Preakness S. and well beaten in his next two before being transferred from Tommy Drury to Bill Mott. He annexed Saratoga's restricted Alydar S. going this distance first off the trainer change Aug. 6, and returned three weeks later to take the three-turn GII Charles Town Classic while pairing up his career top 103 Beyer Speed Figure. Lifetime Record: 15-8-1-0. O/B-Bruce Lunsford. T-William I Mott.
