Finishing off strongly when runner-up in the G1 Flying Five at The Curragh Sept. 12, Gary Devlin's A Case of You (Ire) (Hot Streak {Ire}) flashed late again on Sunday to grab glory in the shade of the post in the G1 Prix de l'Abbaye de Longchamp Longines. Brought along steadily by Adrian McGuinness this term, last year's G3 Anglesey S. winner who had added the G3 Lacken S. to his tally at Naas May 16 was nearing a peak and duly justified his supplementary entry with Ronan Whelan getting to the long-time leader Air de Valse (Fr) (Mesnil des Aigles {Fr}) in the nick of time. Still with plenty to do at halfway, the 10-1 shot held his own in the scrum and when freed hunted down the 48-1 outsider to force the verdict by a short head, with five lengths back to Glass Slippers (GB) (Dream Ahead) who had won this in 2019 and was second last year.
