Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted October 8, 2021 Journalists Share Posted October 8, 2021 What Ascot Races Where Ascot Racecourse – 71 Grandstand Rd, Ascot WA 6104 When Saturday, October 9, 2021 First Race 11:58am AWST Watch Live Streaming Live at Sportsbet Ascot is scheduled to host a bumper 10-race card on Saturday afternoon, and HorseBetting’s West Australian horse racing expert presents his best bets and free quaddie selections for the meeting. The track is rated a Good 4, the rail is out 3m for the entire circuit, and racing is set to commence at 11:58am AWST (2:58pm AEDT). Ascot Best Bet – Graceful Girl In the opening leg of the quaddie, Graceful Girl is set to return off a four-month spell for the Grant & Alana Williams yard and looks a clear best bet on the Ascot card. Having won at stakes level last campaign, she is clearly a horse with above-average ability. William Pike hops back aboard the four-year-old Nicconi mare, and despite wanting to get back and run on over 1200m, we expect she will be simply too good for her rivals here. With a genuine tempo expected from Charleton Eddie, the race should be run to suit Graceful Girl perfectly to finish over the top of her rivals and get her spring campaign off to a perfect start. Best BetRace 7 – Graceful Girl (#4) $2.10 with Ladbrokes Next Best at Ascot – Kaptain Kaos The Michael Grantham-trained Kaptain Kaos has put together six wins from his last seven starts, including three in a row this campaign. The four-year-old son of Demerit has shown that he can consistently produce a strong turn of foot, and despite settling in the final pairing, he should have no issue in rounding his rivals up in the small field of nine. With a hot tempo expected from the likes of Harry Thomas and Excellent Dream, this race will be set up perfectly for Kaptain Kaos to unleash down the centre of the track under Chris Parnham. Next BestRace 5 – Kaptain Kaos (#4) $2.90 with Sportsbet Ascot Value Bet – Big Bada Boom The Roy Rogers-trained Big Bada Boom is set to resume off a six-month spell and looks well placed to bring up a win first-up from a spell. Despite lugging 60kg and wanting to get over further in due time, we anticipate he can run out a strong 1400m at the front under a well-rated steer from Brad Rawiller. The five-year-old son of Hinchinbrook managed to string together five wins in a row last campaign, all when settling up on the speed. He draws barrier 13 here, and we expect Rawiller to have him settled outside the leader in the race, Big Screen. If he is fit enough off the long spell, he can run a big race at a nice price. Best ValueRace 6 – Big Bada Boom (#1) $18 with Sportsbet Saturday quaddie tips for Ascot Ascot quadrella selections Leg 1: 1-4 Leg 2: 2-3-4-7 Leg 3: 3-4-10-13 Leg 4: 7-8-10-15 Investment: $128 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
