Originally scheduled to train up to the GI Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint following her tough runner-up effort against Sconsin (Include) in the Sept. 18 Open Mind S. at Churchill, connections called an audible and entered the classy BELL'S THE ONE (m, 5, Majesticperfection–Street Mate, by Street Cry {Ire}) in Saturday's GII Thoroughbred Club of America S. Favored at 11-10 despite the last-out loss, Bell's The One took up her customary position at the tail, although within striking range beneath Corey Lanerie, as defending champ Inthemidstofbiz (Fed Biz) led from Miss Mosaic (Verrazano) and the rail-drawn Frank's Rockette (Into Mischief) through a fast opening quarter in :21.57. Still at the tail but beginning to creep into it at the three-eighths, Bell's The One conceded ground and rallied five wide into the lane, perhaps hit the front a bit sooner than normal, but battled on to account for Club Car (Malibu Moon) by a head.
