W.S. Farish's Royal Flag (5, m, Candy Ride {Arg}–Sea Gull, by Mineshaft) swept to the front late to collect her second win of the year in Sunday's GII Beldame S. at Belmont Park. The victory represented the second win on the afternoon for trainer Chad Brown.

Settled in fifth early through a :22.97 quarter, the homebred continued to bide her time through a :44.54 half mile. Taken to the outside approaching the quarter pole, the chestnut swung out the widest of four turning for home, overtook pacesetting Horologist (Gemologist) despite being way out in the center of the track and strode clear late to triumph by four lengths. Miss Marissa (He's Had Enough) rounded out the trifecta. Final time for the nine-furlong test was 1:50.02.

Winner of the GIII Turnback the Alarm H. at the Big A last term, she added a victory in this summer's GIII Shuvee at Saratoga before finishing third most recently in the GI Personal Ensign. Lifetime Record: 12-6-3-3, $585,520.

O/B-W.S. Farish; T-Chad Brown.
