Dropping back down to a mile and a half for ParisLongchamp’s G1 Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris following his win in the 14-furlong G2 Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot June 20, Kew Gardens (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) duly delivered a group 1 double to Ballydoyle on the day with Ryan Moore driving the 7-5 favourite to a 1 1/4-length success over Neufbosc (Fr) (Mastercraftsman {Ire}). Held up again as he had been at the Royal meeting, the bay was served up a relentless gallop by stablemate Nelson (Ire) (Frankel {GB}) and after gaining a slight edge over the leading domestic hope with 300 metres remaining stayed on strongly to deny the grey, with the G1 Epsom Derby runner-up Dee Ex Bee (GB) (Farhh {GB}) eventually three lengths away in third after running another lethargic race.
