G3 winner Five Star (5 of last 6 – 42.41sec PB) has been in exceptional form of late and he is eyeing five straight wins in today’s Mixed 4/5 725m race at The Meadows.

Group finalists My Father’s Son and Drako Bale, plus the up-and-coming Sandra’s Sticker, are considered the biggest chances to upstage Five Star.

The Grade 4 525m race featuring Javi (3 from 6 Box 2), Call Me Buster, G1 finalist Hill Top Jack (3 from 5 Box 5) and last start The Meadows 525m winner Westar Aileen should be a terrific battle.

Group placegetters Gypsy Bun, Sovereign Wind (2 from 3 Box 2) and Enter The Son (11 from 26 – 4 from 6 Trk/Dst) v Kasemi v Carry On Liam (2 of last 3) is a strong clash along with Soda Saville (5 from 12) v Suntory Rose v King Of Calypso (3 from 6 Box 3).

G3 finalist Highly Explosive (8 from 21) v Earthworm Jim (4 from 7 – 2 from 2 Box 5) v Western Blazer is a contest of promising chasers, while Green Blazer and Gracie Bale are expected to prevail in their respective races.

Nevaeh Bale v Auspicious Queen v G3 finalist Hennessey (9 from 23) and dual G2 placegetter Fortuna Bale (29 from 72) v Quintana Bale v Boom Out (9 from 18 – 2 from 2 Trk/Dst) should be great races at Geelong.

The Watchdog is predicting Cashton Bale (2 from 3) and Code Cracker (3 from 4) to boost their respective strike rates as well.

At Warragul, former 400m track record holder Paua Of Oscar (16 from 32 – 22.07sec PB) and Luca’s Jebrynah (7 from 15) are standout chasers, while Group Listed winner Lucky Lance and G3 finalist Gotham Duke (3 from 6 Box 7) are set to provide a stirring duel.

Indian Calling, Boes Reward and Oakvale Cruiser are all tipped to record wins at today’s Healesville Tier 3 meeting.

FIVE STAR 🆚The Clock

📍The Meadows 🏁 Race 4 📏 725m ⏱ 4:57pm

Form 👉 https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/716100345/race/4

The Watchdog says
🎤: Gifted stayer FIVE STAR (1) comes into this having won four on the spin in devastating fashion and he continues to elevate his game every time he goes around. He has been showing a lot more early speed of late and with an average beginner drawn outside, he should be able to settle in the top two and then prove too strong for his rivals. His 41.32sec Sandown Park win three runs back showed that he can put serious time on the board, so if the track is in good condition, he should be able to test the clock again. Punters looking to play the exotics will need to include MY FATHER’S SON (2). He will get back early, but he does scrape the paint and he can run all day, so with an ounce of luck, he can sneak into second or third. The consistent DRAKO BALE (6) needs to be respected also. He is normally very reliable at box rise and appears to be the likely leader. With the favourite expected to apply pressure mid race, he may have trouble holding on for victory, but he can definitely take home some of the minor money. SANDRA’S STICKER (8) is the interesting runner. He is still learning what it is all about, but he beat a handy line up at Sandown Park last time and he appears to be improving all the time.

Selections:  1 – 2 – 6 – 8

💰 $3 Win – GREEN BLAZER
📍 The Meadows 🏁 Race 3 🔲 Box 5 📏 525m ⏱ 4:37pm
TAB fixed odds: $3.10 Win
Form 👉https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/716100345/race/3

The Watchdog says
🎤 : GREEN BLAZER (5) is having his first run in town since resuming and his recent form suggests he is ready to fire. He has produced some brilliant runs up the straight at Healesville in recent months and he followed that form up with a top placing in a heat of the Group 2 Bendigo Cup last time out. There is not a lot of early pace drawn around him, so if he can step on terms, he should have no trouble crossing at the first turn and he will be carving out time.

💰 $2 Trifecta – 1 / 2,4,6 / 2,3,4,6,8 (16.66%)
📍 The Meadows 🏁 Race 4 📏 725m ⏱ 4:57pm     👀Must Watch Race 👀
Form 👉 https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/716100345/race/4

The Watchdog says
🎤 : FIVE STAR (1) is drawn to be prominent throughout and he should be scoring with ease. DRAKO BALE (6) is the obvious pick for second, but we have included MY FATHER’S SON (2) and JAYVILLE SLICK (4) for value. MALAYAH BALE (3) and SANDRA’S STICKER (8) are both talented types and need to be included for third.

💰 $5 Multi

First
🦵: Place – GYPSY BUN
📍 The Meadows 🏁 Race 5 🔲 Box 1 📏 525m ⏱ 5:22pm
TAB fixed odds: $1.40 Place
Form 👉https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/716100345/race/5

Second
🦵: Place – ALL INN DUNGEE
📍 The Meadows 🏁 Race 10 🔲 Box 2 📏 525m ⏱ 7:05pm
TAB fixed odds: $1.75 Place
Form 👉https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/716100345/race/10

The Watchdog says
🎤 : GYPSY BUN (1) loves racing here, and she scrapes the paint throughout. So, with an even getaway, she should be prominent from the outset and a top-three finish looks likely. ALL INN DUNGEE (2) relies on luck in his races, but he has a big engine, and he should get a nice run through at the bend. His last 150m is the strongest part of his race and if within striking distance off the back straight, he should make a big impact.
