Yankiwi
It's a serious conflict of interest when a trainer/owner is allowed to be the lure driver in a race which they train and/or own one or more of the dogs. https://www.grnz.co.nz/catch-the-action/14733/stewards-report.aspx He had entrants in the 4th, 6th & 7th races at Manukau today. https://www.grnz.co.nz/catch-the-action/14733/result-detail.aspx And oddly enough, he was the trainer & syndicate member of he winner of race #6 (Thrilling Hudson) as a $9.50 outsider when there was an incident with the lure being to close to the leading dog. Yet another example of officials looking the other way, just to get dogs around the track. So much for "being on notice" from the government. The officials are leading the charge to getting the industry shut down an participants just sit around & watch it happen...
Yankiwi
Seems a bit of a rinse & repeat of the week prior. https://www.grnz.co.nz/catch-the-action/14724/stewards-report.aspx Runners in the 2nd, 5th, 6th & 7th. https://www.grnz.co.nz/catch-the-action/14724/result-detail.aspx

I have as well as lots of other trainers have said the same thing many a time, It is a serious conflict of interests If you, your wife/ partner / family members owns or trains the dogs as has been the case at Wanganui and Palmy for a long time, going back Wanganui had 2 lure drivers that fell into that category. Up until Wanganui closed they still had 1 driver in that category. That's where the backup Lure driver should drive those races but it doesn't happen.
