The Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation (TERF) awarded $12,000 to Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine to be used as grants for two need-based scholarships totaling $12,000 ($6,000 each) for students interested in pursuing equine medicine after graduation. The latest scholarship recipients are Bianca Ruspi and Tyler Olson.

“The Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine is very grateful for the support TERF is providing to its students, especially those planning to pursue equine medicine,” Sheila Reakes, Director of Annual Giving at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine states. “The availability of scholarships has become increasingly important in helping graduates lower their debt load and in allowing them to consider a broader array of careers, including those in more rural areas where quality veterinarians are much needed, upon graduation.”

Founded by Herb and Ellen Moelis, TERF's current board includes co-chairs Kathleen Anderson DVM and James Orsini DVM, Margaret H. Duprey, Gretchen and Roy Jackson, Ellen and Herb Moelis, Wendy Moon, Anita Motion, Toni Orsini, Scott Palmer VMD, Josh Pons, Lucy Zungailia, Katelyn Jackson, and Lynn Cassimeris, Ph.D.
