Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted October 27, 2021 Journalists Share Posted October 27, 2021 Melbourne’s Spring racing carnival is a hectic time for the country’s jockeys, not just for the premier Melbourne Cup Day, but for the myriad of gallops racing around the state. But for Mount Martha apprentice jockey, Campbell Rawiller, it’s not just the gallops that are commanding his attention. Campbell, 19, is claiming the title of possibly the only current jockey in Australia that is also an aspiring greyhound owner-trainer. Son of champion jockey, Nash Rawiller, who rode Elvstroem to a win the 2004 Caulfield Cup, and a three-time winner of the Sydney jockeys’ title, Campbell is the owner-trainer of Forcefully which currently has eight wins from 66 starts. As part of his hectic schedule, Campbell was recently at Sale to watch Forcefully, out of Barcia Bale-Blue Benzol, claim third place. Following the race Campbell managed to get home by 12:30am for a quick three-hour snooze before starting track work at 3:30am. He started his riding career as an apprentice to Gai Waterhouse at Randwick in 2019 and has already ridden more than 100 winners. He is a definitely a young man to watch, both on the horse and greyhound tracks. *This article was written by Tony Homfray greyhoundracingvic · Campbell Rawiller on SEN Track View the full article
