Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted October 29, 2021 Journalists Share Posted October 29, 2021 BRAD REID Title: Breeding Manager Role/Duties: To advocate, champion and promote all aspects of breeding for Harness Racing New Zealand and its stakeholders. How long have you worked at HRNZ? 2 months Are you involved in racing outside of work? If so how? Not involved in racing per se but have two trotting broodmares that I am breeding from and sit on the Canterbury Standardbred Breeders committee. What are your hobbies? Pretty much any sport but play a lot of golf in my spare time and love researching pedigrees Favourite horse from past or present? Bolt For Brilliance and his sister Hey Yo. What was your first paying job? Working for my Dad in his fruit and vege shops from about the age of 11. Favourite holiday destination? Anywhere in the Golden Bay. What do you like most about your job? Being able to write about other people’s breeding success. Breeders are generally very passionate and optimistic and all them have a unique story to tell. There is always so much that goes on behind the scenes in producing a racehorse and I love trying to capture that journey and enthusiasm to share with others. What is something that not many people know about you? The cat is out the bag a bit now, but type Bolt For Brilliance into Youtube and you will see there is a good reason for his name.
