Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted November 4, 2021 Journalists Posted November 4, 2021 Throne Hall (GB) (Kingman {GB}) and Strozzi (Ger) (Holy Roman Emperor {Ire}), both consigned by Godolphin, brought identical bids of £50,000 to share joint-topper honours during Thursday's Tattersalls Ascot November Sale. Held at Ascot racecourse for the first time since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the sale grossed a record £603,500 for 77 sold (83%). The average was £7,838 and the median was £4,600. Blandford Bloodstock purchased lot 66, Throne Hall. A dual winner, the 4-year-old gelding is from the family of globetrotting Group 1 winner Flintshire (GB) (Dansili {GB}) and European champion Enable (GB) (Nathaniel {Ire}). He will be sent to trainer Archie Watson. Just one lot earlier, Richard Venn Bloodstock was in action for Strozzi (lot 65). A son of dual German listed-placed Soprana (Ger) (Cadeaux Genereux {GB}), the bay colt won at Chepstow over seven furlongs in June. He will continue his racing career in the Middle East. Another Godolphin-consigned horse, the gelding Komachi (Ire) (Kingman {GB}) (lot 61) brought £42,000 from W. Clarken and D. Arnold. The winning 3-year-old gelding counts Irish champion Flagbird (Nureyev) as his third dam.
