Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted November 5, 2021 Journalists Posted November 5, 2021 Bobby Flay's Pizza Bianca (2, f, Fastnet Rock {Aus}–White Hot {Ire}, by Galileo {Ire}) went from last to first to give her trainer Christophe Clement his first Breeders' Cup victory in Friday's GI Juvenile Fillies Turf at Del Mar. Still dead last and with seemingly too much left to do turning for home, the Flay homebred benefitted from both luck and momentum when she needed them most, deftly knifing her way between rivals through the stretch and getting up in time to post a half-length win. Malavath (Ire) (Mehmas {Ire}) was up for second while Haughty (Empire Maker) rounded out the trifecta. Final time for the eight-furlong turf affair was 1:36.08. A debut winner at the Spa July 22, the dark bay finished second most recently in the GI Natalma S. at Woodbine Sept. 19. Lifetime Record: 3-2-1-0, $717,635. O/B-Bobby Flay (KY); T-Christophe Clement.
