SPACE BLUES (IRE) (h, 5, Dubawi {Ire}–Miss Lucifer {Fr}, by Noverre) sat the pocket trip and obliged as a 2-1 favorite to annex Saturday's GI Breeders' Cup Mile for the same connections who took Friday's controversial GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf. The victory came after Space Blues's younger stablemate Master of The Seas (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}) acted up and was scratched in the gate in an incident rather reminiscent of Friday's situation. Pacesetter Smooth Like Strait (Midnight Lute) held second and longshot Ivar (Brz) (Agnes Gold {Jpn}) spiced up the trifecta. The winner covered the mile in 1:34.01. Space Blues most recently took the GI Prix de la Foret at Longchamp Oct. 3. Lifetime Record: 19-11-3-1.
