Some 21 hips after her Grade I-winning daughter Guarana (Ghostzapper) was hammered down for a then sales-topping $4.4 million, Magical World (Distorted Humor–Pleasant Home, by Seeking the Gold) soared past that amount and then some, eventually achieving a final bid of $5.2 million during a white-hot renewal of the Fasig-Tipton 'Night of the Stars' Tuesday in Lexington. Whisper Hill Farm's Mandy Pope teamed up with Three Chimneys, to dissolve the latter's partnership with consignor Hill 'n' Dale. Adding to her appeal, hip 203 was offered in foal to Into Mischief, and the bidding raced past the $2-million mark within the first minute of activity. The bidding hung just shy of the $5-million threshold before surging past and sold after another couple of $100,000 volleys. A daughter of 2005 GI Breeders' Cup Distaff upsetter Pleasant Home, Magical World also hails from the female family of Sky Beauty and Violence.
