Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted November 10, 2021 Journalists Share Posted November 10, 2021 What Keith Noud Quality Day Where Doomben Racecourse – 75 Hampden Street, Ascot QLD 4007 When Saturday, November 13, 2021 First Race 12:03pm AEST Feature Race Listed Keith Noud Quality (Race 8) Watch Live Streaming Live at Sportsbet Listed racing returns to Queensland this Saturday with the running of the Keith Noud Quality at Doomben Racecourse, where a field of 13 will be hoping to etch their name alongside last year’s winner, Jonker. HorseBetting’s Queensland form analyst brings you his best bets and quaddie numbers for the afternoon, as well as his selection in the feature race. The rail is set in the true position and the track is currently rated a Soft 6, although it is expected to be downgraded by race day due to rain forecast in the River City over Thursday and Friday. The first of nine races is set to kick off the card at 12:03pm AEST. Keith Noud Quality – The Harrovian The Harrovian makes his long-awaited return to the races in Saturday’s feature after a luckless last-start sixth in the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap. The former North Queenslander took the racing world by storm 12 months ago as he won 11-straight races before heading to Victoria for the All-Star Mile, where he ran fifth. The Toby & Trent Edmonds-trained eight-year-old was not beaten all that far in the All-Star Mile before returning to Brisbane and finishing third in the Doomben 10,000 behind Eduardo at Group 1 level. The son of Fastnet Rock has an elite will to win, winning 17 of his 34 career starts, two of which have come at this track, while four of them have been first-up. This big lump of a horse is also undefeated on a Heavy track, while his Soft track record is also very competitive (12:4-1-2). Barrier six will allow Brad Stewart to get into the perfect spot and allow The Harrovian to prove his class in the business end. If we were to back one to beat him, Niedorp looks enticing at $11 for Tony Gollan and Georgina Cartwright; that mare has won five races at Doomben, has never missed the places when fresh, has not missed over 1200m here and is unbeaten on a Soft track. Keith Noud QualityRace 8 – The Harrovian (#2) $4.50 with Sportsbet Best Bet at Doomben – Morethannumberone We wrote this preview not too long after prices went up and already we have missed the price about the Michael Costa-trained Morethannumberone, who has firmed from $2.50 into $2.15. That said, we are extremely confident about his winning chances in the final race of the day, so it could be the perfect way to double your money or get square – depending on how the rest of your day has gone. This five-year-old son of More Than Ready already has a bit of a boom on him thanks to his three wins and a narrow second from four runs this preparation. The chestnut gelding has an exceptional turn of foot which is made even more visually pleasing by his white feet and white face and his big striding action. He has been winning with authority since joining Costa’s Gold Coast stable, and there is nothing to suggest that he won’t continue that trend. Andrew Mallyon knows the horse extremely well having ridden him in both trials this campaign and in all four race starts this campaign, so he will know what to do on him, while barrier four gives him every conceivable chance with even luck. Best BetRace 9 – Morethannumberone (#12) $2.15 with Sportsbet Next Best at Doomben – Heroic Son We go from the final race of the day all the way back to the first race of the day for this 2YO Handicap over 1110m. Peter & Will Hulbert saddle up Heroic Son in his second career start, six weeks since his debut. The son of Heroic Valour won his first trial and was then ridden a bit quieter at his second trial behind subsequent debut winner Palazzo Spirit, before coming out and winning himself in impressive fashion at Doomben over 1050m. The colt sat just behind the leader in his only race start to date and was able to sprint quickly past it, suggesting that he is a ready-made racehorse. Apprentice Adin Thompson has had everything to do with this two-year-old and has once again been booked to ride, which is a positive as he can claim a valuable 2kg. Thompson will be looking to give his mount a similar ride to last time from barrier five in the stable’s bid to ensure themselves a spot in the $2 million Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YO Classic in January. Next BestRace 1 – Heroic Sun (#1) $3.60 with Sportsbet Doomben Value Bet – Palaisipan In what is one of the toughest races of the day, Chris Munce and Larry Cassidy combine with the very promising mare Palaisipan. This four-year-old daughter of So You Think won her first four career races, defeating the likes of Ready To Chase, Joy Too All and Palladas, with the latter coming in the TL Cooney Handicap on Ipswich Cup Day, which is very good form for this. She was then thrown right into the deep end in the Group 3 Winx Guineas at the Sunshine Coast, where she was far from disgraced despite being nine lengths off the winner. The winner of that race was Our Playboy, who has since won a Benchmark 90 at Flemington over the Melbourne Cup Carnival and is also the favourite for this Saturday’s Cranbourne Cup. Drawn ideally in barrier four, Cassidy will have his mount up on the speed in the 1050m contest, which will allow her to show her strength at the business end to keep kicking. Palaisipan is already a winner at Doomben, which can only be seen as a positive. The mare’s recent trial when second to Shooting For Gold was very pleasing also. We are happy to be on the each-way odds in the opening leg of the quadrella. Best ValueRace 6 – Palaisipan (#8) $7 with Sportsbet Doomben quaddie numbers for Keith Noud Quality Day Doomben quadrella selections Leg 1: 4-6-8-9 Leg 2: 2-3-5-10-13-14 Leg 3: 1-2-3-4-9 Leg 4: 12 Investment: $120 for 100% See more horse racing tips View the full article
