The winner of the race is exempt from the ballots of the Doncaster Mile and the Queen of The Turf Stakes adding extra encouragement to connections to have their horse primed for the Coolmore Classic. The Coolmore Classic was made a Group 1 event in 1986 and in 1996 Coolmore Stud took over the naming rights to the race as it was previously known as the Orlando Wines Classic or Winfield Classic in the years leading up to the re-naming of the race. The honour roll plays host to a few big names in the racing industry such as Typhoon Tracy (2009) and Sunline (2002 & 2000). Sunline’s win in 2002 saw her carry 60kg in the Coolmore Classic and to this day is still the heaviest weight to have won a Coolmore Classic. 2022 Coolmore Classic betting odds Who will join Rocha Clock on the honour roll in the Coolmore Classic in 2022?To Be Confirmed closer to racing date. Instead it was a mare known for preferring the worn out track however between the good barrier draw and Tim Clark the Queensland horse come out in full stride chasing down Anthony Cummings’ Mizzy at the 200 metres to claim her first Group One victory. It gave Tim Clark back-to-back win in this race. 2020: Another Year, Another Blowout in the Coolmore Classic Despite travelling three wide with no cover up on speed it was Con Te Partiro who took out the 2020 Coolmore Classic. With her rivals off the bit entering the home straight Con Te Partiro kicked two lengths clear and never really looked like getting run down. Under Tim Clark it went on to win by 1.5 lengths to hand trainer Gai Waterhouse her first Coolmore Classic win with Adrian Bott and making it four overall for the first lady of racing. 2019: Quinton goes back to back in the Coolmore Classic On the back of a near perfect steer from Christian Reith the Ron Quinton trained Dixie Blossoms handed Quinton successive Coolmore Classic’s in fine fashion. The mare was travelling sweetly when entering the home straight but needed a run to appear. Appear it did, and when Reith asked the mare for an effort she charged clear to give the bookies another fill up in the Coolmore Classic saluting at $21. 2018: Daysee Doom does the Millie Fox & Coolmore Classic Double Daysee Doom became the first runner since Chlorophyll in 1996 to complete the Millie Fox Stakes & Coolmore Classic double when causing an upset in the Coolmore Classic. Having sat outside the leader, Flippant, the entire race, Daysee Doom needed to fend off a wall of runners charging home over the final furlong. She managed to keep her rivals at bay under riding from Andrew Adkins with only a length covering the first seven runners across the line in the Coolmore Classic. 2017: Heavens Above launches from the clouds! It was a well time ride from Tye Angland that saw Heavens Above arrive just in time to pip Silent Sedition on the line to take out the 2017 Coolmoore Classic. Having made up plenty of ground from the rear of the field Heavens Above found clear running at the 200m mark and despite looking like she had peaked on her run, Heavens Above had enough left in the tank to wear down Silent Sedition. 2016: Peeping keeps her rivals at bay With close to four lengths to make up with 200m to go, a slick turn of foot saw Peeping grind away at the margin to get up in the shadows of the winning post. The win handed trainer Ron Quinton his second win in the race, but the win in the Coolmore Classic would ultimately be the final time we saw Peeping on the race track.
