Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted November 20, 2021 Journalists Posted November 20, 2021 La Crete (f, 2, Medaglia d'Oro–Cavorting, by Bernardini), a half-sister to GISW Clairiere (Curlin), took care of business impressively on debut going two turns at Churchill Downs Saturday. Facing only seven rivals, the 8-5 favorite caught a flyer beneath Joel Rosario and shot out to the front. The Stonestreet homebred showed the way while uncontested through fractions of :23.53 and :47.84. She let it out a notch rounding the far turn, kicked for home with a four-length advantage and was geared-down late en route to a two-length victory over Opening Night (Flatter). The final time for 1 1/16 miles was 1:45.44. Cavorting, a three-time GISW carrying the Stonestreet silks and $360,000 KEENOV weanling purchase, had a colt by Curlin in 2020. She was bred to Into Mischief for 2022. The aforementioned Clairiere, a good fourth after a very wide trip in the GI Breeders' Cup Distaff earlier this month, also won her debut over this same course and distance last fall.
