Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted July 20, 2018 Journalists Share Posted July 20, 2018 In a 3-year-old turf filly division without a clear leader, 14 hopeful sophomore lasses will line up in Saturday’s GII San Clemente S. at Del Mar looking to break out. The three stakes winners in the field figure to attract the most wagering attention. Ms Bad Behavior (Blame) has yet to be out of the exacta in four turf starts and captured the China Doll S. before running second in the GIII Providencia S. last out Apr. 7 at Santa Anita. ‘TDN Rising Star’ War Heroine (Lonhro {Aus}) is two-for-two on the lawn, including a tally in the Sweet Life S. going down the hill Feb. 11 at Santa Anita. The one-mile San Clemente will be her first test around two turns. The unbeaten Ollie’s Candy (Candy Ride {Arg}) will make her turf debut having conquered the other two surfaces already. Scoring a pair of blowout wins sprinting on the Golden Gate Tapeta footing, the dark bay earned a game score in the GII Summertime Oaks on the Santa Anita main track June 16. The ascending Animosity (Animal Kingdom) is a logical contender. A winner in her first two outings, she finished second in the GII Honeymoon S. last out. Miss Sienna (GB) (Equiano {Fr}) narrowly missed when second in the Prix Finlande Apr. 24 at Longchamp and was fourth in the Honeymoon in her U.S. bow.
