Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted December 2, 2021 Journalists Share Posted December 2, 2021 G3 Northern Districts Cup winner Aston Flame is in action at Geelong tonight after setting the Shepparton 385m track record in her fifth straight win and 12th of 21 overall on November 22. Geelong Oaks winner Osprey Rose, Weblec Raider – fifth to Tiberia Bale in a heat of the G1 Melbourne Cup – and star prospect Titan Blazer are also racing at Geelong. At Sale this evening, Mr. Neo is looking to win his third straight race and sixth in his last seven starts, while G1 Sapphire Crown finalist Persian Goddess faces G3 Great Chase placegetter Sovereign Wind and track specialist Dr. Knuckles. Before those meetings take place, dual G2 finalist Mr. America returns from seven weeks off at Bendigo, while two-time G2 Shepparton Cup finalist Benchester is eyeing another win. KRAKEN SUE (1) can be a tad hard to follow, however she loves racing here and she will be primed for a bold first up showing. Multi price: $6.20 $4 Multi First : Win – MR. AMERICA Bendigo Race 7 Box 3 425m 4:57pmTAB fixed odds: $1.22 WinForm https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666540436/race/7 Second : Win – ALPINE BUTTERFLY Sale Race 4 Box 4 440m 7:54pmTAB fixed odds: $1.65 WinForm https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/731875830/race/4 Third : Place – PAY THE PRINCE Sale Race 7 Box 2 440m 8:54pmTAB fixed odds: $1.45 PlaceForm https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/731875830/race/7 The Watchdog says : MR. AMERICA (3) is an absolute beast, and he should account for his rivals quite easily today. ALPINE BUTTERFLY (4) is a huge prospect and she lit up the clock at Warragul last time out. With an empty draw outside, she should avoid crowding and that will allow her to assume control in the initial stages. PAY THE PRINCE (2) has tremendous mid-race pace and with TWO FACE (1) expected to lead, he should get a nice run through and hit the scoreboard. Multi price: $2.91 $2 Exacta – 4 / 3,6,7,8 (50%) Geelong Race 7 460m 9:08pmForm https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666540434/race/7 The Watchdog says : WEBLEC RAIDER (4) is a powerful type, and he will appreciate the empty draw on his outside, so with an ounce of luck early, he should get the cash. LUCA’S JEBRYNAH (6) and LITTLE TIGER (8) are the obvious choices for second, however BALBINA BALE (3) and RANAKO BALE (7) are both capable types and may add some value. $1 Trifecta – 4 / 8 / 5 (100%) Must Watch Race Grade 5 Geelong Race 9 400m 9:49pm The Watchdog says : ASTON FLAME (4) captured the Shepparton 385m track record last time. BLAZING NENNA (8) can settle in second and hold on for the quinella spot. GUNAI REBEL (5) is the obvious choice for third. ‘Must Watch Race’ Preview : ASTON FLAME (4) has been superbly placed to date having won 12 of 21 (57 percent) and she recently added the Shepparton 385m track record to her impressive CV. She takes on a handy line-up tonight, however with the empty draw inside, she should have no trouble assuming control in the initial stages, and another scintillating run could be on the cards. The current track record is held by former superstar ASTON BOLERO at 22.01sec. I don’t think she can get down to that, however a sub 22.20sec run could be on the cards.
