The Bendigo Jockey Club is scheduled to host a bumper nine-race card on Sunday afternoon, and HorseBetting’s Victorian form analyst presents his best bets and free quaddie selections for the meeting. The track is rated a Good 4 with perfect conditions for racing forecast, whilst the rail is out 9m for the entire circuit. Racing is set to commence at 12:30pm AEDT.

Bendigo Best Bet: Moral Force

We need to wait until the final race of the day for our best bet as the Mitchell Freedman-trained Moral Force steps out over 1400m. With two minor placings to begin his campaign, the four-year-old son of Kuroshio looks well placed to get back in the winner’s stall with a victory third-up from a spell. He settled no better than three wide without cover at Warrnambool last time out on November 28, which ultimately proved to be his downfall as Unanimous finished over the top of him late. Moral Force managed to put 1.5 lengths on third place despite the tough run, which suggests he will be hard to beat next time around. From barrier five, we expect to see Jordan Childs have him settled in the one-one, and with a better run in transit this time, he should prove too good in the last.

Best BetRace 9 – Clemenceau (#7) $2.30 with Sportsbet

Next Best at Bendigo: Black Opal

John Moloney sends his six-year-old gelding Black Opal to the Bendigo 1100m following consecutive victories over that trip at Geelong and Traralgon. With thanks to a couple of perfectly rated front-running steers by apprentice Tayla Childs, the son of Statue Of Liberty comes to this BM64 in a rich vein of form. With Childs’ 2kg claim, he will go around with just 59kg on his back, and despite drawing barrier nine, we expect to see him dart across to the rails and dictate terms once again. With winning form behind him and an ideal record at 1100m (9: 3-2-1), we expect Black Opal to salute at a nice price.

Next BestRace 7 – Black Opal (#3) $6 with Sportsbet

Bendigo Value Bet: A Good Yarn

Mervyn McKenzie and Jarrod Fry will be hoping they can build on A Good Yarn’s second-place finish at Warrnambool on November 28. Having hit the line with intent when first-up at Moonee Valley on November 12 behind Lady Solly over the 955m, it was a good sign to see him repeat the effort with a narrow defeat last time out over 1000m. He steps out to the 1100m – a distance where he has had his most success (10: 4-1-1) – and despite needing to lug the big weight of 62.5kg, he looks to be a good bet at a nice price. With form behind Zipping Boy, Kalkarni Royale and Zorro’s Dream last campaign, he looks to have a class edge on this lot and will take some beating.

Best ValueRace 6 – A Good Yarn (#1) $10 with Sportsbet
