G3 Provincial Plate winner Hennessey is aiming to extend his seven-race win streak against quality performers Ultimate Avenger and Angus Rhode in tonight’s $7,000 to-the-winner Goldfields Cup final at Ballarat.

G3 Northern Districts Cup winner Aston Flame is also eyeing an eighth straight victory, while G3 Great Chase runner-up Hamillson is also in action at Ballarat.

At The Meadows this evening, dual G1 champion Qwara Bale and G1 Melbourne Cup runner-up Lala Kiwi clash, while two-time Group winner Barooga Smoke runs at the meeting as well.

Thrilling line-up and the Joe Borg-trained ULTIMATE AVENGER (1) holds the key. He managed to cross from box seven in his heat when carving out a blistering 25.04sec and a repeat of that can see him go close again. His kennelmate MASKED AVENGER (3) can come out running in his races and he will keep him honest. HENNESSEY (4) is the interesting runner. He’s won seven on the spin and he has been carving up the clock on the provincial circuit. The draw is a big concern tonight, so he will need to do everything right at box rise. ANGUS RHODE (2) is another star chaser and must be respected.
