G2 Healesville Cup placegetter Hill Top Jonah stands out in the first heat, while three-time G2 country cup champion Ferdinand Boy clashes with G2 runner-up Ad Astra in the third heat.

Paua Of Buddy races for the first time since taking out October’s G2 Bendigo Cup final in the sixth heat, while G2 Bendigo Cup placegetter and 425m track record holder Typhoon Sammy lines up in the eighth heat.

Most of her racing has been done over 500m of late, however earlier in her career, she did carve out some blistering wins on the provincial circuit over this distance range. ASTON MERIT (8) is a star on the rise, and this is his ideal distance range. His box manners can let him down at times, but he is armed with an unrivalled turn of foot. DREAM WIZARD (2) is always a factor in these types of races, while MAXWELL (3) has turned in some great performances of late.
