Three-year-old filly Wrote To Arataki (NZ) (Wrote) ran out a comfortable winner of a 1400m maiden at Warrnambool on Thursday, winning at the second time of asking for local trainer Matthew Williams.

Ridden by apprentice Will Price, the progressive three-year-old enjoyed a perfect run behind the speed and travelled like the winner a long way from home before cruising to a 2 ¼ length victory over Presser.

The win continues the good run of form for the progeny of Highview Stud stallion Wrote, a Group One winning son of High Chaparral.

Wrote has now had five individual Southern Hemisphere winners, which include the Guy Lowry and Grant Cullen-trained Love Letter, a last-start placegetter in the Gr.3 Desert Gold Stakes (1600m), while Best Seller (John Bary) finished fourth in the Gr.2 Wakefield Challenge Stakes (1100m) and looks a strong prospect for the Gr.2 J Swap Contractors Ltd Matamata Breeders’ Stakes (1200m) on Saturday week.

Wrote To Arataki finished third in her only trial in New Zealand for Emma-Lee and David Browne before her private sale to the Williams stable.

Wrote is represented by 18 yearlings in Book 2 of the forthcoming New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sales which are conducted from March 10 – 12 at Karaka.
